I don't know what's wrong with me

Tonight, I got some sort of a bug up my butt and decided that since I had no real takers on my offer to let someone fold all of our socks, I would just do it myself. I know what you're thinking. You're thinking: "Whoa! There must be something terribly wrong with Christa." I was shocked myself. I'm the kind of person who likes to avoid things and they way I avoided the problem of socks needing to be folded, was to just buy more. We now have way too many. So many socks. Just thinking about all of them makes me tired. My husband told me last year to please not buy him anymore. (He really and truly did.) He said he had so many that it would take him around 5 years to wear through them all. He was absolutely right. I had given him about 20 pair for his birthday in August and that many more for Christmas. Bringing his total number to around 10,000. I'm notorious for my forgetful brain (and my avoidance issues) and if he hadn't asked me to stop, I probably would have given him at least 20 more for Father's Day.

The entire time I was folding them, and I made a good solid dent, I was wondering what was wrong with me. I wanted to stop several times, but for some reason I stuck with it. I had my iPod that my dear husband gave me for my birthday to help me and I tried to listen to good uplifting music like 50 Cent to get me through it. It worked. So, thanks 50. You helped me to persevere and I'm really proud of myself. However, I am thinking about seeking medical care to find out what made me decide to do this in the first place. It was totally out of the ordinary.

Congrats on completing this amazing feat!

And, just a question, but where was your husband in all of this? I'm sure he would make a great sock-folding partner. :)

No, he wouldn't make a good partner. I like things done my way and I would be way too bugged watching him do it not my way. It's better if I do it all alone.

Please tell me you pronounce it as fiddy. That would make me happy.

Congrats on such a major feet (pun intended). I'm so lucky to have a sock folder that lives in my house because it would drive me crazy!

Of course I pronounce it Fiddy. Is there any other way?

I always fold clothes on my bed while I watch something fun that I've tivo-ed. Then I don't feel guilty for sitting down to watch tv, and the socks get folded!
Congratulations on your outstanding accomplishment!

when I get in the mood to clean or fold. I have to take advantage of myself, I never know when the mood will come again.

If you ever feel the "need" again, I would be more than willing to supply you with a huge basket of socks to fold!! I know, I know, I'm so generous!!

Too bad I don't live near you cause I really like matching socks...except for my boys...I think they come out of the wash dirtier than when they go in. Nasty little clumpy things all balled up and damp even after going through the dryer. Ew.

I hate to do socks it always seems like one escapes and then you start to build up a basket of ones

I'm the "continue to buy socks" type too. Much easier then washing, matching, and folding.
