Even "slim" isn't slim enough

Cameron is a skinny, skinny kid. He's about 4 feet tall, 7 years old and weighs around 48 pounds (on a really good day). Fully dressed. I have to buy slim size pants for him and they have to have an adjustable waistband on top of that. I then have to adjust the waistband to just about as small as it will go so his pants will almost stay up. A couple of days ago, I noticed that he was walking around holding up his pants and if he let go, they would fall down to the middle of his skinny butt. It was obvious that the button on the adjustable waistband had come undone. I checked, and sure enough, it had. The elastic had retracted back into the waistband and so it was impossible for the pants to stay up on their own. Impossible to keep a pair of slim pants up? Whoever heard of such a thing? I don't think I've ever had that problem. I think the last time in my life I could be considered "skinny" is November 30, 1975. The day I was born. It's all been downhill from there.

Let me just say that I am SO grateful for the invention of adjustable waist pants! Otherwise my kids would be walking around with their pants falling off.

Why is it that boys are the ones to have this problem? "No matter what I eat, I don't gain any weight!" Oh yeah, poor baby. :p

My sister has had that problem her whole life. She still does even after 2 kids. She hated it because people called her anorexic even though she wasn't. She was so skinny (how skinny was she?) just kidding. But she was so skinny that I looked chunky next to her. I still do. Oh wait. I still am even standing next to me all by myself.

My 2 older kids have to have slim pants with adjustable waists too. I don't have to adjust them all the way like you do Cameron's though.

He is Ryans child. Point made.

I need those elastic waste adjusters too. Of course for another reason, more to make them bigger so they fit me than smaller, LOL!

I guess I never really paid attention. 48 lbs?? Put him on my diet, he'll be sure to gain 10 lbs this week. That's what I do.

What is up with that? Can we find a way to do a mommy transplant? Where we give some of our weight to our kids who need it?

I like Jo's idea (met you at the Meet & Greet--and I am still trying to visit everyone's blog) There were so many of us, it was hard to "get to know many of you". I wear stretch top pants----but not cause I'm skinny!!!!!!!!!! (ha ha) cause sweats are comfortable and I'm old.
