If this doesn't get my parents to comment, I don't know what will

Avery has been one big stinker lately. She's asked a few more times to go back to her real family. To which I have responded, "well, if you can tell me where they live, I'll take you there." A couple of days ago I told her no about something, I can't remember what and she said, "my real dad told me I can do whatever I want." I told her to find that real dad so I can smack him for telling her that.

A couple of nights ago, I was trying to help her get into her pajamas. She was sort of flopping around and doing the exact opposite of what I needed her to be doing to get them on. I was really frustrated and asked her why she had to be like that. She gave me this sweet, snotty smile and the put her hands on my cheeks and said, "I don't want to listen to what you have to say." Evil. I smacked her butt and laughed at the same time.

All of her naughty antics have reminded me of a nursery rhyme of sorts that my dad would always tell me when I was little. It goes something like this:

There once was a little girl who had a little curl right in the middle of her forehead. When she was good, she was very, very good. But when she was bad, she was horrid.

Horrid. That's a good word to describe how she's been acting.

She looks so sweet and innocent in that picture.

Here's to hoping your parents comment. I completely understand.

And you know she has years of being very, very good AND being horrid. Good luck dear!

I'm starting to wonder if parents ever comment on their childrens' blogs???

Come on Tracy and Dana--I know that you can do it!! I have seen it before--COMMENT!! (0:

She sounds like Cameron in ways. Maybe you are going to have a mini-Cameron on your hands. Or maybe it is just the age (I HATED THE AGE OF 4) and she will grow out of it--here's to hoping it's the age thing!!

It is a good thing she is cute huh?!

I think it's a girl thing. My daughter is only two and she's the bossiest little know-it-all I've ever seen.

haha, STILL asking about her REAL family? Someday she'll think it's funny. And someday you will, too :)

I'm all for bum spanking.

My mom used to tell me that nursery rhyme too, usually it was used to describe ME.
Hope she starts acting sweet and innocent soon, otherwise looks can certainly be deceiving!

Oh, and she looks so sweet too! Just shows you looks can be deceiving. I hope her attitude improves soon. Maybe she's just preparing you for her teenhood!

Just remember to write down all of the funny things she says. I promise it will be cute when she is a teenager and doing/saying things that are MUCH, MUCH, worse!

I have a little girl who reminds me of that poem too! I have often recited it. My little girl is 6 and we haven't overcome the naughtyness yet. When will we get past this? Probably never. Sigh.

Well, at least she's honest right? I love that comment "Because I Don't want to listen to what you have to say..." too funny.
Good luck!

That is one of my favorite nursey rhymes. Who doesn't love poems about bipolar children?

I am very familiar with that poem, I even have the porcelain doll in my curio cabinet! It's the one with the girl with the curl with the broken flower pot.

My mom & brother saw it in a magazine one day while I was making that exact same face. They laughed and wouldn't show me the picture. Later they gave it to me for my birthday and told me the story.

That poem was a constant with my mom to me. ;-)

Oh my gosh I haven't heard that nursery rhyme in years! I think it is really funny but that is because she isn't mine, if one of mine said that to me after being naughty I don't think I would laugh right away but I can laugh now... hee, hee, hee, hee

Apparently, there are a lot of naughty little girls out there. I didn't realized that so many people would know the poem. ☺

Looks can sometimes be deceiving and that can be the case with Avery. She can be one naughty stinker.

No, I won't be there on Friday.

This made me laugh…I’m right there with you. But I get the “Why can’t you just love me” in place of the real mom and dad. If I had a penny for every time she said that I could have quit my job years ago.

Oh I can't wait to have kids.
