Why? (198)

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I'm practically perfect. My husband knows this and will back me up on it. (He just has to ignore the fact that I'm extremely impatient. Also, that I'm a control freak and throw a hissy fit when I don't get my way.) So, why would I need to read this book? Well, I've decided to participate in the book club in my ward and this is what they have chosen to read. (I may have actually chosen it as well when the sign up sheet was passed around. I can't remember, but I shouldn't admit that because it contradicts my claim of perfection.) The book claims to be "A Practical Guide to Dramatically Improving Your Marriage." Now, I'm not saying that I did actually choose this book but if I did, and if I would have known at the time that it was meant to be a guide to improve yourself as a wife, I never would have picked it. Why do I need to improve that which is already perfect? (I guess if I am so perfect, I would have been able to find a better picture of the book. I looked for practically a whole minute and couldn't find anything better. If you think you can do better, then do it.)
*I'm about 2 1/2 chapters into it and can already see how this book is going to help me. I think it will be a good read.*

I didn't pick this book, either but it definitely is a good book. She's amusing and gives great information. I decided to take a few notes to help me remember! :) I can't wait to talk with everyone about it.

This is why I will never join a ward book club. I'm so happy mine allows lots of sex and nudity.

I was telling one of my friends, after I found out what the book would be, that I sometimes need a little gratuitous (I shure hope thats speled rite cuz I hate looken dum) something in my books. I didn't want to do it everytime if it had to always be church books. I'm thinking about trying to find another club outside of the ward to soothe my heathen side.

Oh, I signed up to read this book and I haven't bought it yet, I better get a move on. Even though Steve will tell you that I am perfect as well (At least he better say that or else...) :0)

Ha ha, I love the title. You'll have to let us know if it's good.

Kristen-
I only have 40 more pages to read if you want to just borrow mine.

I am the perfect wife too--that is if you don't count the nagging, the temper, the bossyness, the "I am ALWAYS right" syndrome, the I hate to say sorry issue and several others. But all in all I AM PERFECT and he is now stuck with me FOREVER!! Muahahahah!!

I want to be in a book club! Probably a non Church one, though. Just don't know where to look and I couldn't start until I was finished with school because I go crazy with more to read than my boring text books. Oh, because if I had something else to read I wouldn't read my boring text books.

Oh, and I'm perfect as well. Except for the whole... forgetting to switch the laundry at night sometimes and... not cleaning the bathroom every week and.. not vacuuming a few times a week and.. leaving the dishes in the sink and... Oh.. that's about it. ;)

Oh and not ironing his church shirts... and not caulking and puddying and painting our unfinished trim...

I've been wondering about this book, please let us know what you think when you've finished it.

We had a book club in our ward for a while but we didn't restrict it to just churchy books. That book does sound like something up my alley though. I read The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands and the The Proper Care and Feeding of Marriage by Dr. Laura and they were both great books.
Barnes & Noble has book clubs and some libraries do too, check them out.

So I just finished the book and TJ, I really liked it (just in case you wanted my opinion too). The author is very funny and I was entertained. I also learned a lot of things that I will start trying to do but some of the things--uuuummmm no! I think that I look just fine when my hair is in a pony tail so there!

Torina,
our "ward" is a floor at the state mental hospital. We're all out on special release to see how we interact with our families and deal with every day stress. So far I'm failing. :)

I signed up to read this book too. Ummmm yea, haven't even started. I won't admit to being perfect, but dang I'm close!! What the crap do I need the book for? (I think we should make our husbands read something like, "how to treat your wife so that she feels like and looks like a princess every day)

Oh by the way.... I'm tagging you... go to my blog and see it. Since you haven't been tagged, I tag you... you're it!!

Christa, are all of ya'll super women? How in the world do you have a chance to read books, and be a mom, wife, sister, friend, blog buddy, etc etc etc? I bow to all of you...

Chirsta, I have to make a confession, when I first read the book title I thought it said "STRATLING your husband is not an option" and I thought well why not? oh boy I think my mind is in the gutter

Have you finished the book yet? I would love to borrow it, if you're finished?? I don't know when I'll have the time to buy it let alone read it.

Bobie, I haven't quite finished it. I got distracted and kind of forgot for a couple of days that I was reading it. I picked it back up today. I should be done by tomorrow. You can have it after.

I am not in your ward or anywhere near it, I am guessing... but I did buy this book. I have yet to crack it open. I also read Dr. Laura's The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands. It took me a while, but I eventually liked it. I would love to know what you think about this no strangling book. I agree with another commenter that a book needs to come out for the boys...

The Fishers: I'm "liking" it to a point so far. I would say that in general it has been good. Perhaps my issues with it are the subjects that have touched on a nerve with me personally. I guess that's probably the whole point of the book in the first place. Touching on women's nerves, thereby giving them a good kick in the butt. I'm almost done with it, but will have to ponder it for a while before I give a total review.
