I literally spend my entire day walking from one room of my house to another, picking up stuff and putting it back where it belongs. My kids literally spend their entire day following me, taking stuff from where I just put it and moving it to another location all over again. The fun never ends.

That sounds oddly familiar. Seems like our days are VERY similar!!
That drives me nuts! I've given up on picking up after my kids, but they do have to pick up after themselves before they get to play.
If they fight with each other they now have to do an extra job. And I'm such a mean mom that I make friends help pick up the mess they've made before they go home.
Yes, yes, yes!! And then you walk into an empty room with toys everywhere and as soon as you put the first one away they all come running to tell you not to clean it up because they are "playing with it now".
Yuck. My dad was about as tedious though. Don't worry.
