It's time to start shopping for Halloween costumes. You thought I was going to say "back to school". Didn't you? Yes, that did happen today and Tyler and Cameron handled it pretty okay. They were annoyed when they realized I intended to walk to school with them, taking pictures all along the way. Tyler's response when I told him, "ugh! Do you plan on following us all the way to high school?" I told him, "ummm....duh! Of course."
Cameron had a bit of a freak out once we got there. It's a long story that I won't go into here, but he's doing better now (I assume, since I'm not with him) and should be just fine.
Anyway, since it's August, it's time to start thinking about Halloween. As you know, if you want to get anything good, you have to start shopping now. I'm actually a little ashamed that it's already the 24th of August and I'm just barely starting.
Since Peyton is still little, I get to decide for him. I'm thinking he's going to be a dinosaur because he thinks they're ultra cool. Although, he was a dragon last year and that's close to a dinosaur. So, I might change my mind, but the final decision will be made today. Avery wants to be a dog. Excuse me, a "puppy dog". I'm not sure what I'm going to do just yet. I bought a pattern for a "puppy dog" costume a couple of years ago. I'm just not sure I'm ambitious enough to attempt to make it on my own. We'll see if I can find one to buy. If I can, my decision of whether or not to make it will be made.
Tyler and Cameron are still undecided. I'm going to insist that they decide by today and then get them ordered. Target has a good selection this year. I love shopping for costumes online. It saves me so much time and trouble. Pointing and clicking is so easy.

Here's what's on the menu today: Chicken Fingers, mashed potatoes and buttermilk biscuits. We're having our own little, homemade KFC meal tonight.

Halloween costumes are already out?
I have had mine planned since last year, but I just have to convince my husband to go along with it. He's being stubborn about it. It only requires that he wear a minishirt and halter top!
When I found Cameron in front of the school he was crying and I felt SO bad. Poor thing!!
We are having Chicken and Rice a la Tina and cooked carrots. This was Z-Man's choice.
Oh poor Cameron, I hope he is okay. I laughed when I read Tyler's comment, I can hear him saying it in my head, he is such a funny fart! I just looked at the Halloween costumes and I don't want to spend the money on 5 different costumes averaging $30 each... ugh! Maybe I can convince some of them that they really, really want to be the same thing their older brother was last year!
Halloween? Already? Yikes.
Mmmmm....now I want chicken and mashed potatoes! Can I come over? :)
I have a dog costume that Oaklen wore two years ago and I also have a dinosaur/alligator costume that Oaklen wore last year if you want to borrow them. They both are vests so they fit a lot of ages and sizes. They're not in perfect shape but I can show them to you if you want.
I wish I could get my kids to decide on their Halloween costumes right now!
Oh, and I LOVE that you're sharing your menu!!! I usually have a menu that runs for about 3 weeks at a time, but I'm getting sick of some of my options.
Your post made me realize that in a box, somewhere, there is a supercute homemade dinosaur costume my oldest made for Little Man when he was four or so. I wonder if the Pea wants to be a dinosaur this year?
