Moisturization

A couple of weeks ago, I bought the moisturizing body wash that coordinates with my deodorant and body spray. I'm scent layering, or something like that.

I like the smell and all, what I don't like is the way it makes my skin feel. What? I thought the wonderful way it made your skin feel was the #1 reason for using a body wash. To me, it just seems so slimy. My showers have become twice as long because I spend so much time trying to rinse off the "rich moisturizers that leave your skin feeling soft and silky'. I want my skin to feel clean after a shower. Not slippery.

Yesterday, while driving in the car, Avery suddenly decided that she needed to use the bathroom and she needed to use it really BAD. We were close to home and so I asked to her to please try and hold it. She started whimpering and whining and say "ow..ow..ow..I have to go really bad". She got herself worked up into a right good fit. I tried my best to calm her down, but listening to her made me suddenly have to go too. Good bladder control isn't really something I have anymore. I have had 4 kids after all. Listening to her, just made it worse for me. I actually felt like acting the exact same way. So, I had to roll down all the windows and drive really fast so the wind would drown out her whining and help me forget that I had to go too. I know you wanted to hear that. (Whoever is reading.) You're welcome.

What's on the menu today: Creamy Vegetable Soup served with wheat bread, of course.

Your moisturizer story reminded me of something. I have hard water, and my parents have soft water at their house. My showers are twice as long at their house because I feel like the soap never rinses off. Note to self: never use moisturizing body wash at their house or I will never get out of the shower.

Dinner looks yummy!

I hate when you don't feel clean. Yuck.

I hate that slimy feeling. BLAH!! As for the peeing thing--that kind of situation still happens to me. When we are in the store (this happens SOOOOOOOOOO much) and O insists that her bladder is going to explode--on the jont to the toilet I immediately have to go too. Crazy how that works.

That soup sounds really yummy. Problem is--none of my kids would even touch it.

Erin - I shudder to think what my showers would be like if our water softener worked. I would never be able to get out either.

Jillene - Maybe it's time to make your kids try some new things. That's what I've been doing. They have to have some of what I've made and if they eat it, they can have some sort of snack later. Most often, they end up liking it. If they don't eat, they don't get anything else for the rest of the night. Give them the benefit of the doubt and at least try.

I can't stand moisturizing body wash! I have to feel "rinsed off"!
