I HATE THEM

First of all, sorry to all you cat lovers out there. I mean no offense, but you can keep your cats to yourself. Thank you very much.

I hate cats. Like, I despise them with every fiber of my being. I hate the way they look. So, why did I include a picture of one? I don't know. Just looking at it is making me physically sick. Oh, and before anyone says, "but what about kittens? Kittens are soooooo cute." Fine. Kittens are sort of cute. I can admit that much. The problem is that they grow up into cats.
I hate the way they sound. There is NOTHING more disgusting than the sounds a cat makes when in heat. Or when fighting with another one. That's gross too. Or when they purr. Or when they meow. I guess I hate the way they sound all around.
I hate they way they move. They are not graceful and majestic. They are sneaky and evil. Oh, and they way they move when in heat!? Don't even get me started on that.
I hate the way they smell. Do I really need to say anymore about that?
I hate the way they shed.
I hate the way they feel. I can't stand to pet a cat. I can't stand feeling their spines, or the bones in their tails. Shivers are running up and down my spine right now, just thinking about touching a cat.

My next door neighbors have multiple cats. Cats that they leave out to roam all the time. Cats that are constantly breeding with each other and producing more cats. Cats that come into my yard and crap in my garden or planter. There are freaking cats everywhere.
Currently, there's one that's especially brave. If it's around when we open the door, it will try to dart into our house. It has no fear and doesn't run when you try to scare it away. In fact, it actually tries to get ME to PET it.
It was hanging around in our backyard when we got home from church yesterday. Ryan tried to chase it off, but it wouldn't go more then a few feet away from the door. So, we all ran inside and prayed it would just go away. I obsessed for the rest of the night over the idea of that darn cat sitting outside my door just waiting for the opportunity to get in. I obsessed so much, I dreamed about cats all.night.long. STUPID CATS WERE IN MY DREAMS ALL NIGHT. I'm really angry about it.

I am allergic to cats, and they unfortunately always LOVE me, jumping into my lap. I don't hate cats, but I hate 2 things about them: the cat pee smell that is pervasive in the homes of many cat owners, and the way cat owners let their cats jump onto the kitchen table and counter right after they've been walking in the litter box. It strikes me as so unsanitary. I guess it's not easy to prevent this, but it is possible to train them not to. Emma did a school project on pet training and learned that putting foil on the counter works. (They hate that and after a while they'll assume its still there, even if it isn't). Also keeping a spray bottle and squirting them when they do it will teach them to stop...they will equate the bad behavior with being squirted.

Ellie, cat pee is horrible. Previous residents of our house had cats that they allowed to use the basement floor as their litter box. We scrubbed, sprayed & soaked the spot for days before putting in carpet. Unfortunately, the smell still comes back every once in a while. I HATE IT!

I didn't see it this morning, but that doesn't mean it wasn't hiding in a bush or something. Watching me and plotting how it could get in the house.

Wait? This from that young lady that LOVED all animals??? Even RATS?? Wow I need to understand my niece a little more. I have several feral cats I can send your way that are hanging out in my backyard :D

AMEN! Blech, cats.

I don't believe I have ever, ever in my life liked cats. If I did, it was when I was very young and too dumb to know better. As for the feral cats, just thinking about them made me throw up. Thanks. ☺

First--the picture made me want to get in the fetal position and cry.

Second--you know I feel the same way. And my next door neighbor is a stray cat feeder. So my front yard is basically a litter box.

Third--IT TRIES TO GET IN YOUR HOUSE?!?!?!?!

Jillene, I really did cry when I was searching for an image. There were some that were much worse.

Yes, it tries to get in the house. There was one time when it tried to get past me as I was standing in the doorway. I was able to catch it with my foot and pin it against the doorframe. I promptly kicked it out. Once I shut the door, I changed my pants because they had touched it and were covered in its stink.

I got my carpets cleaned the day before I had Shannon. I opened my back door to air it out and the stupid cat from next door ran in RIGHT ON MY CLEAN, STILL WET CARPET! (Who knows where his paws had been). I chased it and all I got a hold of was the collar which came off. Devin finally caught it and literally threw it outside. I took the collar and left it on the neighbor's porch. Why do they think they are welcome to walk right in to my house?

was blog hopping and have landed on yours. Can't help but leave a comment, because I feel the same way. I have never meet another person who has disliked cats as much as my self.

I have heard that cayenne pepper will keep them out of your yard. Although I am not sure how to use it to make it work.

Have a great day!

It is not that I hate them but having asthma is not a great idea for me to own a cat. I see them as cute and sweet creatures and I wish I could own one. My aunt has plenty of cats in Naperville, and she sends them locked behind cage every time I visit there.
Really? They pooped and peed on your precious carpet? Cleaning Naperville Illinois ‘ domestic cats’ dirt (in my aunt’s case) has been a daily routine for her. Sometimes she hires carpet cleaning. Naperville cleaners even come in a regular twice-a-week basis because there is no time that my aunt’s living room carpet has not been peed or pooped by her cats. But still, I love to have one. A cute Siamese cat, to be exact.
