I'm glad he knows what he's doing (172)

Ryan is almost done nursing the sick computer back to health. He also fixed the Bluetooth keyboard so that I am now sitting directly in front of the tv like a civilized person should. He tried explaining some of what he was doing, but all I heard when he was talking was a buzzing sound. It went in one ear and out the other. I'll just let him fix it if I mess it up again.

Typical Cameron day today. I met he and Tyler as they were coming out of the school this afternoon. He didn't have his lunchbox with him and when asked, he did that kid mumbling, "I don't know." We went into the building to check in his classroom. His teacher had gone home early because she wasn't feeling well. Sick on the first day. I wonder if that's a sign of what things will be like this year. Another teacher said that a lunchbox had been found and that Cameron's teacher had been asking around in all of the 1st grade classes, but no one claimed it. I don't know why Cameron didn't admit that it was his, but it sounds about right that he didn't. The teacher said check the office and the lost and found. It was there. Good. I picked it up and realized that it felt pretty heavy. I opened it up and his entire lunch was still in there. Uneaten. We had cooked chicken nuggets this morning because he agreed that would be a good idea and he promised he would eat them. I also sent some Pringles, a package of Chips Ahoy cookies and a Capri Sun. He didn't even try to open anything. At this time it was 3:00 p.m. So that meant that he hadn't eaten since just before 8:00. I asked him why he didn't eat it, he again mumbled, "I don't know. I guess I wasn't hungry." I said, "So what did you do? Just sit and stare at the other kids while they ate." He said, "Yeah. Pretty much." This sums up everyday Cameron in a nutshell.

I'm also visualizing Cameron eating his entire lunch, and thinking to himself, WOW my mom is great!! I love the lunches she fixes me!

Maybe you should take him to the doctor. I didn't know kids could be in possession of cookies and not eat them.

Oh dear, sweet Cameron. If he continues on like that every day he is going to blow away with the wind! (0:

Hopefully now that he has seen how things work in all day school he will start getting comfortable and be able to eat his lunch. Hopefully he will remember to bring home his lunchbox too! (0:

Ummmm...kind of crazy about the teacher. She is a little different but going home on the first day...priceless!

Who goes home on the first day?!?! I wish I could do that. First day at work? Sick.

And poor little guy. I hope you guys can figure out the lunch thing.

I bet if you put the brocoli in there this wouldn't have happened ;)

I forgot to mention that the brocolli thing would probably work. Of all the things to like eat, despite being one of the most picky people in the world, it's raw brocolli. There's no explaining Cameron.

So, did he eat a lot once he got home? I am just curious because I couldn't have gone that long without eating... poor little guy. Hopefully it will get better once he gets into a routine otherwise you might be having to take him his freshly cooked lunch everyday at noon...

It was always one of my biggest fears about having the kids in school all day. Would they eat their lunch?
I hope Cameron will be able to eat his lunch at school soon! He's so funny!

Wow, I can't believe he wasn't famished at the end of the school day. Maybe "losing" the lunchbox was all part of his plan to boycott lunch. On that note, maybe the teacher was boycotting teaching by going home early on the first day. Keep us posted on the lunch situation.
